Thoughts on the Fed Ex Cup...

Some of my favorite quotes headed into the last week:

Tiger Woods said, "How great would it be if, like in the World Series of Poker, at the first tee starting the first day of the Tour Championship, all you see is $10 million [in] cash stacked up there and that's what we're playing for? That would create a lot of buzz."

Throw in John Daly and Chris Moneymaker at a Poker Table near the 18th green and we are set for some entertainment!

Robert Allenby said, "To say that it's not ready is pretty disgusting, I think, especially for a major event. I mean, this is what it's all about … the FedEx Cup. It's coming down to the final event, and it's going to be a nonevent, because it could be Mickey Mouse golf."

The greens are ridiculous. In this, your premiere event, to have greens in such bad shape three holes can't even be used in practice rounds? Unacceptable.

"The fans don't really want to hear us bitching about the quarter of a million we're going to get in 10 years or 15 years or 20 years, whatever it's going to be," Mark Calcavecchia said on Tuesday. "Having said that, I wouldn't mind standing out in right field, making maybe $13 million a year batting .250, catching a couple pop flies and still collecting my 65 grand a game. That's pretty good, too."

Apparently he is losing his fantasy baseball league this season. Shut up Mark.

And finally, I just read about this now, but Robert Allenby's caddy walked off the course in the middle of Bob's second round at the BMW championship. Bobby had this to say: "That's golf," Allenby said. "It's not the first time and won't be the last time, either. I definitely played some pretty good golf after that."

He wasn't kidding. In 1995, he had a caddy do almost the exact same thing - except even better. The caddy picked up the bag and turned it upside down so everything fell out.

How bad of a player do you have to be to cause two of your caddies to create a scene on the golf course? And the worst part - he's sure it won't be the last time either.

Are these guys spoiled brats or what?
