You. Can't. Make. This. Up.
"A urine sample submitted by Michael Vick has tested positive for marijuana, and as a result he'll have tighter restrictions on his freedom.
The test was taken on Sept. 13. Because of the positive test, federal court probation officer Patricia Locket-Ross, who is assigned to Vick, asked Judge Henry Hudson to place special conditions on Vick's release, which include refraining from use or unlawful possession of a narcotic drug or other controlled substance." "The ball Barry Bonds hit for his record-breaking 756th home run will be branded with an asterisk and sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Fashion designer Marc Ecko, who bought the ball in an online auction, set up a Web site for fans to vote on the ball's fate, and Wednesday announced the decision to brand it won out over the other options -- sending it to Cooperstown unblemished or launching it into space." (ESPN.com)
What. An. Idiot. This baseball is an historic artifact right up there with Babe Ruth bats and Hank Aaron's home run balls. It doesn't matter whether you think he cheated or not. We will never know and thus to taint history with an accusation that cannot be disproven is simply wrong for the sport of baseball. The record is the record. Period. Like it or not. Like Bonds or not. He may have broken the law taking HGH and/or steroids without a doctor's prescription (which we don't know yet until the case is settled), but he DID NOT CHEAT according to major league baseball rules.
In fact, with regards to HGH, he would not be cheating now if he was using it. Which brings me to Bud Selig. What. An. Idiot.
