Why doesn't anyone like baseball?

Last night I was headed home and I thought to myself, "Self, it's a beautiful night and may be one of the last beautiful nights of the year, so don't waste it."

So, I went out to the local golf course and putt and chipped for about 45 minutes and learned, yet again, that my short game is in the toilet.

After I finished I thought to myself, "Self, it's time to watch baseball." So, I was headed home to watch baseball and had a moment of inspiration. Yesterday, I watched on the big screens at the bar and that was cool, but after being outside I was motivated for a little activity and thought to myself, "Self, since all I am going to do is watch baseball, I can go to Lifetime Fitness and watch the game there and get the benefit of working out while I watch baseball."

In theory, Self is a very intelligent individual and comes up with some pretty amazing plans at times. This, however, turned out to not be one of them. Yes, amongst 8 different television stations on at the gym, for some reason Fox could not be one of them. I got Fox News. Just not Fox. And thus, no baseball. So, instead of watching the Indians pound the Yankees and feed my perverse pleasures, I got to watch Howie Mandell try to make a deal. Utterly fascinating.

Didn't I tell everyone that pitching wins in the playoffs? Please tell me all of you made your predictions knowing this and listening to me. I mean, seriously, like I wouldn't follow my own advice...

Kaz Matsui couldn't hit a freaking water tower from 30 feet with a little leaguer pitching during the regular season, but in the playoffs against the Phillies - he thinks he's Hideki Matsui. Who, incidentally, could have used a hit or two last night.

The Yanks/Indians game and also the Rockies/Phillies game each had a total of 15 runs scored in the game. In all three of Wednesday's games combined, only 14 runs were scored.

Oh, and it is official, with the eight runs Arizona scored last night, in one game they managed to eclipse their season runs scored total. Note so self: "Self, this offense, no matter how much the Cubs are trying to make it look differently, is NOT good!"
