Scott Boras underestimates Alex Rodriguez...

In 2000, Scott Boras produced a report with the following projections for Alex Rodriguez...he used this report as his main selling tool when meeting with general managers in the signing process that produced the largest sports contract ever seen at that time - a 10 year, 252 million dollar deal with the Texas Rangers. Here were the projections and where Alex actually ended up:

Proj. End of 2006 - 1357 runs, 1284 RBI, 2072 Hits, 410 HR, .568 slugging %
Actual End of 2006 - 1358 runs, 1347 RBI, 2067 Hits, 464 HR, .578 slugging %

Amazingly, A-Rod outperformed those projections, plus, after last season, he even further outperformed those projections.

Some interesting reading material to go through in this Scott Boras report:

A-Rod - Best Shortstop in History at Age 24

For some reason, I watch Tiger Woods and I absolutely appreciate his place in history and his uniqueness. I laud A-Rod and recognize him as the best player in baseball, but for some reason I have never looked at him in Tiger Woods terms. Yet, to baseball, that is exactly what he is. Well, at least during the regular season. Tiger would never go over 50 postseason at bats without a home run or RBI period, I think of that there is little doubt.

So, people, lay off A-Rod. He's going to end up the best overall player in baseball history offensively and he has officially given Scott Boras the finger. How do you not cheer for this guy?
