Blog Writing...

Writing is a two fold process. The first is pretty obvious - you have to be good. Not necessarily technically good, but you have to bring something to the table (this of course assumes you actually want someone reading your BS). You have to tell a good story or you have to be funny and witty or you just have to provide a feeling that makes people happy they just wasted five minutes of their life on you.

That's the easy part. The tough part is quite simple, yet quite difficult. If you want people to keep coming back to read your writing, you have to find that moment. You have to cut through all the crap and find the heartbeat. In a day of 86,400 seconds, you have to find the one worth writing about.

There are some great writers out there that can do this, but one of the best sportswriters around at doing it is Joe Posnanski. He has that rare ability to make you care about what you are reading even if you could care less. He will submit a new blog entry pretty much every other day. It's worth the read. Even if he is fascinated with Brian Bannister.
